A Ninja Slob Drew Me is an expert at music that takes you on a journey. One Week in Sand was an excited exploration of the possibilities of this, followed by the much more refined and focused We Are;. [Before/After, Tilt] finds a balance between the two. This is an album that looks out at the universe with a combination of wonder, excitement and sometimes cynicism, that manages to explore a huge range of possibilities with each one remaining focused and carefully formed. Each track is designed to surround the listener in a different place or emotional space from the valleys of Mars, to the peaceful bay at Nallikari in Finland, through to the “depths of an unknowable oceanic paradise”, home to sinister Squid Lizard overlords.

This is an album about discovery, that looks in fascination at concepts as big as the world around us, out to the solar system and as small as the emotional connection between two people. And it does all of this whilst barely uttering a word.
